The safari will start from Kampala and end in Kampala taking you for gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, west across the Albertine Rift Valley. Here you will view the terrain of the forest, the plant life, animal life and birdlife, with the most notable being the Mountain Gorillas, then head to Queen Elizabeth National Park for the launch trip on the Kazinga channel and game driving– one of the highest species diversity in the world. You will see a diversity of animal life and birdlife. Also go for chimpanzee tracking in the Kyambura gorge and Maramagambo forest walk.

 

Day 1: Kampala – Bwindi

Early morning you will be briefed about the safari, after head to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest home of half of the world’s population of remain mountain gorillas in the world.  Stopover at the Igongo cultural village in Mbarara for a treat to the culture and history of the south western Ugandans, for those who are not interested, enjoy a local buffet at the restaurant and proceed through the switzland of. With the winding roads and the terraced hills coupled with the agricultural activities, the scenery is breath taking.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking

Early morning, have a hearty breakfast to give you the energy needed. Take with you packed lunch and all the necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorilla. Assemble at the park headquarters for the briefing before taking on the hike to the home of the mountain Gorillas one of the most exciting wildlife experiences, the tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours with the help of experienced guides. It’s amazing to listen and observe the gorillas in the forest while they marvel and grumble to each other. Other mammals here include buffalo, elephants, black-fronted diker’s, leopards, and giant forest hogs and an immense wealth of birdlife. Depending on the time you return and your ability you may take a forest walk which exposes to the rich diversity of the impenetrable forest and up to the beautiful falls or a community walks around the lodge that will allow you interaction with the local community and their way of life.

Day 3: Bwindi – Queen Elizabeth National Park

Wake up to the beautiful sights of the environment and the quietness and peace in which you enjoy your breakfast. Drive to Queen Elizabeth National park, a park with a great diversity of species like no other. As you go through the park you may spot a few animals like the Elephants, Uganda Kob, deffassa, wart hog among others.  Depending on the time you arrive relax at the lodge and later in the afternoon enjoy a 2 hrs boat trip on the Kazinga channel the joins lake Edward to Lake George where you may meet the largest concentration of hippos, meet the crocodiles busking in the sand teamed up with other animals that come to enjoy a drink in the afternoon plus wide range of birdlife.

 

Day 4: Kyambura chimpanzee trekking

Yet another beautiful morning in a beautiful park, Enjoy your breakfast and we are off to trek our closest cousins closer than any other living creature, in the Kyambura gorge an amazing beauty the rich green forest and the chimpanzees playing. In the afternoon enjoy a game drive on the tracks of Kasenyi and later proceed to the Ishahsa sector popular for the tree climbing lions.

 

Day 5: Departure

Enjoy another game drive in this sector in search of the tree climbing lions before transferring back to Kampala. You may ask your driver to make a few stopovers whenever you need to.
